Born in California, Ian has swiftly become a must-watch artist in the dance music scene. Celebrated by many as a trendsetter with the use of his frequently viral sounds on social media, Ian is just beginning his long career ahead in music.
At the age of 23, Ian Asher’s breakthrough didn’t happen overnight. Years of honing his craft in his studio and on social media provided him with the chance to cultivate his distinctive sound. Ian’s music made its break onto the scene when he stumbled upon French artist Jain’s “Makeba,” where Ian’s remix of the original tune became the most used sound on Instagram and TikTok in July of 2023, surpassing 3 billion plays across the platforms that summer alone. Since then, his remix of “Makeba” has amassed more than 80 million streams on Spotify alone and has garnered praise and accolades, including winning “Remix of the Year” at the EDMA’s and being named one of “Mint’s Best Dance Songs of 2023” by Spotify. To follow up his success, Ian has since collaborated with chart-topping DJ Oliver Heldens on their rework of “Mas Que Nada”, as well as Filipino band SB-19 to produce “Moonlight,” the latter of which reached number 1 on iTunes in over 23 countries.
